Antibiotics are largely overprescribed in this country. Antibiotics are losing their effectiveness due to overprescribing and people not taking them properly. Some scientists believe we are not far from the day that we will have no antibiotics that work.

However, since you are concerned, I would definately call your primary care doctor for advice. He or she should be able to determine whether or not you need antibiotics.

From personal experience, I have had two different extracts and all four wisdom teeth removed, and I never got antibiotics.
