I have an abcess in the upper right front tooth. I have a history of gum disease and have lost a lot of bone holding the tooth. My dentist put me on penicilin and i no longer have pain however the Pimple, so to speak, is still there. The penicilin is not clearing up the bump(been taking it a week now). I have no pain at all in that area. Just a pimple on the gum. My dentist wants to pull the tooth however there must be another solution. Is pulling the tooth the only solution to this? Is there no way to clear up the infection. In addition, i'm wondering if the abcess is causing a minor ear ache that i have on the same side.
