1) don't go back to that dentist (was it an oral
surgeon or a dentist?) if he gave you no advice
about oral hygiene after your surgery
2) get your primary care doctor to recommend a better dentist, and also get him or her to suggest
appropriate medications now and maybe to prescribe
them for you.
3) I had a bone-impacted wisdom tooth removed 3 weeks ago [i.e. it was INSIDE the bone] and have the same problem as you with food particles.
Here's what I'm doing:
* surgeon has me on an antibacterial mouth wash
twice a day
* I rinse with warm water [tall glass] and half
teaspoon salt after every time I eat something
* I am on amoxycillin -- 4 a day. You may not need that antibiotic; I had to have a bonegraft.
Good luck.
