I had all of my wisdom teeth removed on 3 days ago and I am terrified of getting these dry sockets that I keep hearing about. I stopped taking the prescribed pain medication because it made me sick, but otherwise my recovering has been as expected. My question is how long after surgery can you still get dry sockets? A few days or a few weeks? I have worked myself up into such a frenzy that I can hardly stand it because I am so afraid of experiencing the horrible pain that is being reported. Any suggestions on how to avoid dry sockets?
