Marylin, You stated that the root was cracked if that was the case they would not have been able to retreat the RCT, if they placed new crowns on the teeth you could be hitting the teeth to hard with your bite , has anyone checked your bite yet?
I souds like only one of your teeth has had a RCT and one had been retreated, it could be that the other one is dying and it will also need a RCt, sometimes it wont show up on a xray unfortunatley you are having discomfort and are playing a waiting game. Go back to the dentist that retreated and did the new crowns have him take a new xray and compare it to the old one to see if theyre is any difference. Good luck !!
