Hello. I am 30 years old and just discovered that I never got my 2nd molars on bottom. My orthodontist said he had never seen this before. Has anyone ever heard of this? Why hasn't any other dentists told me this before? I am a clencher/grinder at night. As a result, my top back molars are dropping down b/c they are trying to connect with the bottom molars that aren't there. My top teeth have shifted in the last 9 months and I now have a gap betwen my two front teeth. The orthodontist seems to think if I get the top molars extracted, my teeth may shift back to normal. I hope so, or it's braces - yuck! I don't know if I should get a 2nd opinion. Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated.
