My friend just had a core filling done on tooth # 3. He is being told by his dentist that he will need a crown on the tooth. Does this seem reasonable that the dentist worked for 1 hour to remove and replace a large filling, and then says the tooth will need a crown? I was surprised that the dentist did not just go ahead with a temporary crown right off the bat. Thank you, Sam Smith
