In Reply to: Is it okay to use heating pad after extraction??? posted by CindyL on October 20, 2000 at 17:57:15:

: Hi. I have a post below but I was afraid if I put this message there, no one would answer. I know ice packs are used for six hours after extraction, but can I start using a heating pad and if so when?

You should use ice packs for the first 24 hours,on for 20 minutes and off for 20 minutes. This will cut down on the swelling.of course you dont need to worry about during your sleeping hours. The heating pad wont cut down on swelling.
