In Reply to: Tooth Ache after a filling - Please help with suggestions posted by Cyncy on October 30, 2000 at 00:09:01:

: I had 2 fillings done 2 weeks a go on 2 side by side teeth. The dentist said they were near the nerve or root and put on a pulp cap.
: Everything felt great for about 11 days. Now one of the teeth aches. It does not seem sensitive to cold, hot or biting. It just aches and I am taking 3 ibuprofen every 4 hours. What could be wrong now.

: I will call my dentist tomorrow for an appt. but want to know what to expect.

: Thank you so very much. This board has helped me soo much! Cyncy

Chances are the nerve is starting to die in the tooth and will probaly require a RCT ,the dentist might adjust the bite and then see how it reacts for a while. If he did a pulp cap it was very close to the nerve .The good thing is that it is not hurting to hot and cold so it might just be that your hiting the filling to hard and adjusting the bite will help. Let us know what he finds. Good luck !!!
