: Due to a childhood accident my teeth have always been messed up. This will be my third bridge replacement and my gums have weakened and become infected. There is major bone loss and I fear that the posts that hold the bridge will weaken. Is there any other recourse for me. Peerhaps an alternative or holistic appraoch? Please advise.
The best recourse for gums and bone lose is extreme home care ,that means brushing and flossing everyday and using a oral rinse of some kind that your dentist can recommend for you.You might consider dental cleanings every three - four months also.if you lose the teeth that your bridge is cemented to maybe there is a possibilty that you would be a candidate for implants, but you would need to see aoral surgeon for him to evalute your bone lose.
