: Hello Bonnie. I have been having a lot of dental problems for the past few years. i had a root canal on my lower back tooth and at the same time my wisdom teeth were growing out. I started to develop a bad taste that seems to come from the side of my mouth where my root canal is. When I eat food it tastes different. when I went to the dentist he couldn't find the cause of the problem. I have no idea what's happening. Please Help.
The bad taste could be a combination of things. If your wisdom teeth are in and there isnt enough room for them they could be trapping alot of food and causing a bad taste or there is something wrong with the RCT can be going bad .alot of things would have to be answered before I can really give you a suggestion. When was your last cleaning and set of X-rays ? what type of restoration was placed on the tooth that had a
RCT ?These are all things to take into consideration. I would maybe suggest a second opinion if you have recently had a clean dental bill of health and your still getting the bad taste.
