Hi,
I recently got a new set of crowns on my two front teeth. Afterwards, I started getting excruciating pain that is like cutting, knives, tingling and crawling. It sounds weird, and I was unable to talk, eat, and forget about brushing my teeth. I felt like there were ice picks on my nose and something stuck in my eye. So the dental surgeon took and xray and found an old root canal (done 20 years ago) that was all screwed up. There were pieces of bone and bacteria that he had to clean up. however, the pain did not go away. The neuro said this does not look like TN, which I heard is a serious nerve injury? But I am not sure. What else could it be??? Sometimes I feel my whole body tingle. My dentist does not know, esp since the pain does not seem local. She says the crowns still need to settle, but it has been 3 months since the crowns were done!! I am desperate for an answer or clue. Even morphine does not take away the pain. I cannot tolerate Neurotin. Sometimes the pain subsides, but the tingling sensation is always there. What do you think it could be, and what should I do?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
