Hi everyone..
This is my first time posting on these boards. I found a lot of suggestions helpful already but thought I would ask myself as a lot of people here seem to know what they are talking about..
Last week, I had to have all my teeth out bar the 6 on the lower jaw, which are in pretty good condition -one of them may need a filling that's about it. I have three questions that I'd like to put to the board if I may:
1)I had an immediate denture made before hand, a full upper and partial lower. They were supposed to fit this the same day of the extractions but decided not to for whatever reason. The day after, they tried to fit them (I had the work done in the hospital as i have a minor bleeding disorder - von willebrands disease) and they didn't fit. They said I'd have to wait until the swelling goes down. Well it still hasn't and I'm feeling rather uncomfortable without them (I'm only 24). I was wondering if anyone knew anything about these and how successful they are? I don't want to wait months!
2)I have pain in one of my remaining six teeth, and this tooth just happens to be the one on the end next to an extraction socket. Do you think I have something serious there? There doesn't appear to be much wrong with the tooth when I tap it. I was wondering if it was normal to feel pain on your other teeth after extractions. The area around this tooth is very swollen, more than anywhere else. I am hoping its not an abcess but I fear the worst. This is the last thing I need while im still recovering!
3)I would like to get implants on the lower jaw as I heard lower dentures are not so good. In the event I can keep my six teeth, how many implants would I need? How long would it take to fit them? And would I be able to have them? My bleeding disorder is only minor and I have all the best treatment for it.
I would appreciate any help on these matters. I do apologize for the length of this post, but I am desperate. I had arranged a vacation to Argentina and now it looks like I can't go..Thank you
