I have an extremely painful spot on my tongue that has developed for seemingly no reason at all. It started out as one painful tastebud, then the center of it turned yellowish, then that area went smooth and the surrounding tastebuds are following suit. It is extremely painful and in the way of talking, eating et cetera. I can hardly taste my food or even eat for the pain of it.
