: Hi! My question is this: I had a retreat on this molar Nov.9th; prior to that I had gotten a root canal on that tooth 9 months earlier, but it never stopped bothering me...my question/dilemma is this: the endondtist who did the retreat on that tooth (on Nov. 9th) said he'd redo it for free. The tooth HAS gotten better; there is still a sensitivity when I chew on that side of my mouth; and I have a light ache on and off...I am scheduled to go back next Friday morning. I did kind of feel the tooth is healing...but I have no idea if this is just wishful thinking, or what. If I get the tooth retreated next Friday, will I run a great risk of screwing up any progress I've made with the 2nd root canal (The 2nd time around, the endondtist found a 4th canal that was missed the first time around). Now, the tooth mildly aches, and I have to chew ginerly; but I don't feel the terrible pain I used to feel. I am conflicted; I can get the tooth retreated for free; but will it make things worse...or will things stay basically the same (pain, then gradual healing). I would appreciate any advice you might have out there. Sincerely, Debbie
Debbie...I'm going through the same thing....my dentist found a 4th canal 3 weeks ag...filled it and it's definately better but "not quite"...2 days fine...next 2 kinda dull and achey....what i'm doing is waiting until 2001....trust your gut...if you're feeling like it's healing pain give another week or 2. The fact is...you should feel nothing...but teeth are tricky. If you go into the tooth again it will shake things up and then you'll never know if it's healing or a problem...if you wait another 2 weeks and it's still not better....then you definately have aproblem and you can go the next step...I hope this helps....
