But since you said that you cannot right now due to financial reasons, the antibiotic that you are taking now may help for now. But it may not clear up the infection. Also there is no saying how long it will keep the tooth from abcessing again. You may want to talk to your dentist and see if you could come to some kind of financial arrangement prior to treatment. And to just let you know, your first visit treatment will probably not be done, probably just and x-ray of the tooth, and a quick examination of the tooth. If the Dr. deterimines that the tooth has an abcess then you will probably be rescheduled later for the treatment that you decide on.
