: I have been told that I may have developed resorption under my cracked bridgework. I will be going to a

I am not quite sure of what you mean, but if it really is resorption, it just happens. Resorption is where the root(s) of a tooth spontaneously start being "absorbed" by the body. Sometimes this happens during orthodontics. If teeth are moved into place quickly and/or moved alot in a short period of time the roots will have resorption. But sometimes this will spontaneously occur on a tooth for no specific reason. There are, of course, some theory's but none that I have any good knowlege of. Usually dentist's will do a root canal in the tooth that is resorbing, and that seems to help/stop it as far as I have seen. This is something that is not too common. Good Luck!
