In Reply to: Prominent Dentists: Too Hot to Fill Cavities????? posted by suzy on August 06, 2000 at 19:15:46:

Odd that I should run across your message today. Just returned from the dentist after
not having seen one in over four years. My appointment was for cleaning and I
suspected I might have a couple of cavities because of occasional pain. Dentist did
only a visual exam and said I had cracks in my teeth and needed several crowns.
I was surprised that he didn't take xrays. I always thought xrays were taken at least
once a year to expose small cavities and such. After my cleaning, I assumed the
xrays would be done but my visit was over. When I questioned the help, I was told
that the dentist would have ordered them if he thought them necessary and he was
with another patient. So maybe you have something there and I need to find a
hungry dentist also.
