I have never taken Celexa, but I have been on a long line of meds - not all SSRI's. However, I am on Prozac now, and for me it is working fine. I react really quickly to meds and I noticed a dramatic improvement within 24 hours of taking the first dose, but I am very unusual. Normally it takes atleast 2 weeks and up to 2 months to see any noticeable improvement. Like you I have never heard of Celexa and I can't find it in any of my books just now, I'll keep looking and maybe ask my GP when I see her on Thursday It may not be in my books because it is new and my books are all out of date.
The other thing I should say about Prozac is that it is made by loads and loads of different companies, and I have had varying degrees of success with different ones. Although they all contain the same active ingredient in the same quantities and they appear to be the same, for some unknown reason, there is atleast one brand that doesn't work for me. A company called Lilly made Prozac first and all the medical trials were done on this brand, so I now have a note on my files that says that I can only have Lilly's Prozac.
I hope this is of help and I really hope you find what works for you.
Best wishes and good luck
