: Hi I have OCD and I DO NOT want to take another SSRI again...will Wellbutrin do anything for this condition? Or something else?

: Please advise,

Try Zyprexa. If too sedating, switch to Risperdal. Both are antipsychotics, but wonderful for a whole variety of conditions including OCD. You would probably only need a small dose.

Benzodiazapines are sometimes useful as well. Clonazepam is probably the best choice, followed up by Xanax as a close second.

Wellbutrin isn't known for treating OCD and could just make it worse due to its stimulating properties. A tricyclic like Clomipramine or Nortriptyline could work well, but if you thought SSRI side effects were bad, yikes. TCAs are hard to handle for a lot of people.

I think your best bet is with the antipsychotics. Much better all the way around than the SSRIs.
Sincerely,
Kelley
