Helene, thank you so much for your reply. I hadn't thought about SSI at all, but you know, it would apply to me, I would bet. I'm at my end with no real money coming in (just a bit from my vacation/sick leave) which adds to any depression I might have. I have thought for many days now, what's the use? I will most certainly investigate this as soon as possible.

Also, have you found that you get very little understanding of your situation with friends? I only have two (one in town; another out of town) and even though they listen to me or read my emails neither seems to grasp how drastic all of this is to me and my life. It's as if I can shake all of this off or distract myself. One of them wanted me to entertain and fix a turkey just because he knew it "would make me feel good."

I can barely function, and he thinks I need to fix a turkey! And I've known him all of my life!

Hope that your worries and stresses can be aleviated soon, Helene, and as Bob has said in his replies, it's time to think of you now.
