I have the same type of thoughts, but I had them all the time... My doctor said that it's because of depression and because of my stress level, but I was able to control myself so I didn't act on the thoughts. My doctor put me on an anti-psychotic drug, though, and if you're doing something like going to school or you have a job where you have to think a lot, or if you're too busy to get 8 hours of sleep each night (all 3 apply to me), being on an anti-psychotic drug will make everything a lot harder for you. It really does help you control your thoughts (I can't explain how, but I don't have any frightening thoughts, but I do get scared easily), but you just can't think of much else.
