: I had a verbally abusive psychotherapist. In addition to what he said, I was always worried he'd get physically abusive or violate my boundaries and take advantage of having (at the time) a 14 yr old in his office alone with him.

How did you get away from him? Did anyone ever press charges? My dr. says that I need to go through therapy (but she keeps forgetting to send the referral), and I'm worried that I'd become too attached or get worse, because I've heard horror stories about how they make you dependent on them so you stay in the system. How was he verbally abusive?
Helene
sorry I'm asking all these questions... I'm new to all this (but not new to my "issues" as one dr. put it)
