How did you get away from him? Did anyone ever press charges? My dr. says that I need to go through therapy (but she keeps forgetting to send the referral), and I'm worried that I'd become too attached or get worse, because I've heard horror stories about how they make you dependent on them so you stay in the system. How was he verbally abusive?
