: : I had back surgery in June and don't seem to be healing, My husband seems to think I might have diabetes because he checked my sugar level with his machine and it was 250. I am thristy all the time and have to frequently urinate also I have boils that just won't heal. My feet are numb but I thought it was due to surgery , the nerves in my back aren't healing right and now I find out
: : the nerve in my neck and right hand is messed up. are these signs of diabetes???? I went to take the fasting test today but won't know anything for a few days thought maybe someone could give me more information. I would appreciate any help .
: Hello Crackers:
: Anything I say should not be a substitute for advice from your doctor.
: This could be a dangerous time for you waiting for the Fasting Blood Sugar results and treatment.
: Drink lots and lots of fluids which are without calories (diet soda or water are great).
: Dont even get near eating or drinking anything that has concentrated sweets in it. Avoid all candy, sugar, alcohol etc. until you find out whats happening.
: I would suggest taking your fingerstick blood sugar every morning before eating or drinking and call your doctor if its over 300.
: If you have any other questions you can e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
: If you faint or otherwise think you have an emergency, go to the local Emergency Room.
Im assuming that you dont have congestive heart failure or severe kidney disease. Has any doctor ever told you that you must severly limit your fluid intake? If you are on a fluid restriction than I would refer you to your doctor. I am not making any money, selling any products or charging in any way for you to contact me if you have any questions.
