My mother who is 74 years of age, over weight has Type II insulin dependent diabetes. Lately she has been suffering from "tooth like" pains in her foot around the ankle. She describes the pain like a "shooting tooth ache" up and down her foot. She spoke with her diabetic doctor who told her it was just her nerves.
My mother spends sleepless nights due to this pain and I can't believe the only reason is "nerves".
Any ideas what might be causing this horrendous pain? She also has arthritis, high blood pressure etc. She is taking tylenol for the pain but it is not helping.
