If what your mother has is Neuropathy (which are nerves damaged by the Diabetes) It would cause horrible pain. Besides getting Diabetes under control if it isn't, there are some prescription medications and cremes that my help her. One of the cremes is a combination of cold creme and cyanne pepper (which sounds too bizarre I know) and rub it onto the affected area. a Jar of cold creme and 2 tbs of pepper. Don't rub your eyes or mouth area after.
