: Both my parents have adult onset diabetes and I am wondering if my time has finally come. For the last 3 weeks, I have been incrediably tired, have a mouth that tastes thick and metallic, have been craving sweet drinks and getting very shakey with visual disturbances. I have also been nauseaus, lethagic, depressed and have no appetite. I have found that when I am at my worst if I suck on some sort of sweet I feel better within minutes which lasts for and hour or so. The best day I have had is when I ate pasta for both lunch and dinner, any connection? Anyones advice would be greatly appreciated.
How old are you, are you overweight, and is your diet high in carbohydrates? Based on the symptoms that you have described, I would recommend that you see a doctor for testing. I would also highly recommend that you read (for your and your parents info) Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution. It's available at any major bookstore or online bookstore.
