: : hello i would really appreciate if any type two diabetics could tell me about their experience with low car dieting, any negative or positive side effects experienced, its for my dad im concerned , he doesn't eat much , exercises but yet he gets fatter by the day, and he's already (52 yrs) showing signs of poor blood circulation, at this rate i don't see him living much longer, we have try something radically different, read the atkins diet book , but am curios has anybody else tried it?
: I have tried it and have lost 20lbs in 6 months. I never thought I would , but this diet is one of the greatest! It really works! My husband has lost over 50lbs, and he is not diabetic.

I would really hold up a warning finger here. Dr. Koop on his website had a warning for persons following this diet. It produces keytones and can cause serious problems for some people.
I am Diabetic for over 20 years, Type 2, and I would not follow it personally. I would be afraid to.
