: I AM STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY MY BLOOD SUGAR RISES WHEN I DO NOT EAT. I REALIZE YOU NEED YOUR MEALS AND SNACKS BUT AT FIRST I THOUGHT MY BLOOD SUGAR WOULD REMAIN THE SAME WITHOUT BREAKFAST AND A SNACK - I FOUND OUT OTHERWISE. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY EXACTLY THIS HAPPENS?
Sandi,
Your liver stores Glucose. If you don`t eat, the natural production is interupted and the liver
dumps glucose into your system. If your on meds, the insulin in your system is able to handle
regular conversion by the the liver, but not a large influx at one time. I eat 6 small snacks a day
1 regular meal, I always test under 120 and my average is between 100 - 105. Hope this helps.
