: I live with my daughter and her family. They have at least twice a day a huge fight, which is very upsetting to me. I went to my doctor and he said stress could be the problem. My Question is, is there any information on the results of stress on blood sugar. Thank you.
Your doctor is right.
Both prolonged stress and illness can raise your blood sugar levels even in a person who is not diabetic. Since we diabetics take our blood sugar levels on a regular basis, we are more aware of this, but you don't have to be diabetic to have this happen.
I believe The American Diabetes Assn. has information on this on their site located at http://www.diabetes.org. Use their search field found near the bottom of their home page on the left side.
