Your brother could be experiencing any number of situations from hormones to mental illness to diabetes. It's not surprising that he is aggressive and defensive about the subject though. A lot of people don't like to hear that something might be "wrong with them". You might try approaching him when he is calm and appears to be balanced somewhat; for instance in the morning before he has had a chance to pollute himself with sugar and chemicals. If he drinks sweet, sugary pop all day, and he has diabetes, he will only last about so long before he collapses anyway.Then he will have to get help.
Try asking him if he would just do it for you to ease your mind. Tell him that you think he's the best brother in the world and you don't want anything to happen to him.
By the way, there are kits you can buy at Walmart and other such stores for relatively cheap that will test your sugar at home. That might be a way to start. Later
