Be careful with this diet. I was on it for 6 weeks following the diet very carefully while doing the recommended exercises and was feeling pretty good. I had lost 11 pounds. I went to the doctor after having my regular blood work done to check my liver and kidneys because I am on a cholesterol lowering medication. My protein count was dangerously low. My doctor ordered me to go off the diet for two weeks and have the blood work done again. I could not understand how a high protein diet such as the North American Slimdown could do this, but I followed the doctor's orders. At the end of the 2 weeks I had the blood work done again, and my protein count went back to normal. I report this because I don't think many have the same type of blood work done as I need too. I just wouldn't want anyone to have something bad happen to them. I wish I could have stayed on this diet, because I was losing weight, better than anything else I have tried in the last several years. By the way I am also a Type 2 diabetic.
