The best and safest way to lose weight and keep it off is to change your diet. First of all eating a slice of bread and a glass of milk is not going to cut it. That is not healthy at all. First of all you are not getting nearly enough nutrients in your body and you are drastically slowing down your metabolism. The first thing you need to work on is your metabolism. If you eat meats, eat lean meat preferable "white meat" turkey, fish, chicken breast, etc... Don't eat fried foods, eat lots of vegetables especially "green". Eat low-fat yogurt. You should eat fruits before "noon" because the contain fiber and vitamins which you need but do not eat them past noon because they are high in sugar and you want to make sure you burn that off before you go to bed. You also need carbohydrates. Try to stick to the complex carbs such as, wheat bread, brown rice, bran cereal, etc... Drink "LOTS" of water. Cut out soda, whole milk (substitute with low-fat, skim or soy), and you do not want to drink fruit punch or juice either (unless 100% fruit juice and remember before noon) Now what you want to do is eat small portions 5 or 6 times a day (ideally 3 hrs apart. Eating 5 or 6 times a day is going to speed up your metabolism. Eating small portions is going to give your body the energy it needs to get you to your next meal and you won't have excess food to be stored as fat. Now with all of this said, you may want to exercise a little. I don't mean kill yourself. Start off with a short slow pace walk. Don't over do it. Gradually you can pick up the pace, increase the distance, and even do other types of exercises.
Hope this helps.
