: Hi my teenage son has been diagnosed with this--does anyone know of a diet that might possiblely help him out? He isn't overweight just trying to find safe food that does not trigger this. Thanks For Any Suggestions!
i have had this for ages. it can be a problem, but can be held in check (believe it or not) by a high-fiber/low fat diet. Do not skip meals. Try to not let sleep schedules get thrown off by much. Try to exercise regularly (as this helps to keep the bowels functioning normally). And, i personally have found that whenever i eat too much sugar it sets it off.
i know this just sounds like a normal recipe for living, but when followed even somewhat faithfully, can cut down on frequency dramatically.
