Renee, I too recently went on the carb addicts program and have lost 4 pounds my first week and my husband has lost 2.5 pounds.

The program is not difficult. Here is the jest:

Eat 2 complimentary meals each day. These are high fiber and lowfat with no carbohydrates other than what is in your veggies.

You will need the book, trust me. There are several places on the net you can buy it ie; Amazon.com. You can also buy it at B. Dalton or Barns and Nobel. I would get the most recent the Carbohydrate Addicts Lifespan Program. The program has changed since the smaller paperback version that was printed in 1990.

An example for a complimentary breakfast is;

2 eggs (anyway)
3 links of sausage (regular or lite) watch out for the carbs in the lite.
and low carb veggies (list is in the book)
you can make a sausage and cheese omelet with mushrooms onions and tomatos.

lunch:

chicken breast grilled or panfried or a cheeseburger with no bread, any kind of meat tuna with real mayo (no realish) salad or salad and green beans (another lowcarb veggie) steak or pork you choose. surgar free jello (no fruit)

Dinner (reward meal)

This is very simple eat any amount you want.

there are some guidelines to this:

1. make sure your menu is balanced.Eat 2 cups of salad with your favorite dressing (no limit on the amount or kind and do this before you start eating your reward meal. 1/3 protein, 1/3 rich carbohydrates, (this includes dessert) and 1/3 low carb veggie. You don't have to weigh or measure just look at your plate and make sure it is divided into 3rds. If you are still hungry, you may go back for 2nds, but remember you must have equal portins of all three groups. I am a big eater and I havent been able to go back for 2nds yet.

The 2nd requirement is you must eat your reward meal within 1 hour. This is important.

Drink your 8 glasses of water.

Here are some ideas for dinner:

Steak, baked potato, coleslaw and salad
butter and sour cream, steak sauce. and any dressing you like
dessert (carrot cake)

Pizza, sausage and pepperoni, salad, and cauliflower or green beans (any other low carb veggie) dessert: pie ala mode

Dont eat a bag of chips and candy bar and that is it. It must be balanced.

Good Luck and let me know how you are doing. This is the most livable program I have ever been on. I have lost hundreds of pounds over a life time and have gained them all back. over and over again. I can eat two restricted meals a day and a reward meal once a day for the rest of my life.
