First of all you need to make sure you are eating enough. It can be just as hard to lose weight if you are not eating enough. The reason for this is because when you body feels a decrease in calories eaten it slows down you metabolism as a safety, so you actually burn less calories. Research shows that your metabolism can decrease by as much as 15% in a low calorie diet. First off and most importantly make sure you are getting a good amount of protien, your body will use protien to maintain lean body mass(muscle). Your muscle's are where your body burns calories, so it makes sense to keep them healthy. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you are giving you body what it needs to maintain the muscle's you have. That way you'll be able to burn calories better.
