If you are on a Protein diet to lose weight then you really should be doing enough exercise to make the most of it. It is typical for body builders to have such a diet. The extra protein in their diets rebuilds muscle which they exercise with free weights etc.
If you want to lose weight then drink plenty of water (no calories and makes you less hungry), and sort out a diet where you eat about 12X your body weight in pounds. Ie. I am 160 pounds, so I eat around 2000 calories a day. I also go to the gym no more than 3 or 4 times a week (your body needs time to recover). If you do 3 times a week where your heart rate is elevated for 30-45 minutes then you will lose fat. If you did a run for instance, running at a lower speed for longer is a lot better at losing fat than running at a high speed for shorter. The latter only increases your cardio endurance level, which is not the point unless you are an athlete or something.
