: Hi, I am 22 and not really over weight(maybe by 10 lbs). Why am I here then?? Well,
: I am trying tounderstand myself before it happens- before I gain weight and can't turn back. I eat a lot,
: I love to eat. If I am alone, I will eat until there is no food left in the house. Because of this,
: I don't like to buy lots of groceries at one time. I love myself, and my body right now, but I'm terrified that
: my eating habits are going to make me depressed by the results later on. Please, someone give me
: some help. I have heard of some ways to stop eating so much, but I need something more in depth,
: something deeper emotionally to consider. If anyone has a story or their own, please post it,
: I want to know how people conquer this.
: Thank-you! Jenn

What type of food is it that you are overeating? If it is high carbohydrate junk food, then the reason you are overeating is probably a metabolic issue and not just an emotional one. High carb foods tend to cause cravings for more high carb foods (kinda like an addiction). Cut out or at least reduce your intake of carbs and more than likely your tendancy to overeat will also be reduced. Several diets that advocate the low carb approach describe this. You can read more about it in Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, Protein Power, and the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet. Alan S.
