: : Yes, I have tried the Hilton Head Metabolism diet and it was successful! The biggest thing that you must remember is to follow re-entry to keep from regaining pounds (I failed to do this once and once I followed it, the weight has stayed off!). It was not unhealthful for me to exercise twenty to thirty minutes after eating for twenty to thirty minutes. The exercise, Dr. Miller indicates, should not be stressful. I found walking to be the best exercise. Also, you must be committed to continuing your exercise two times a day for the rest of your life. I found a walk after breakfast and after dinner to be the best way to stick to this forever. I walk every morning after breakfast and every evening after dinner. While I know that dieting is always an individual program, I referred a few friends and my sister to this program. Those that followed it as prescribed lost their five pounds per week (very encouraging) and have kept their weight off as well. The thirty-four pounds that I have lost has never returned and the walks keep me in touch with nature, as well as healthy. Good luck. One final word: I didn't like the New Hilton Head Metabolism Diet. It was too complicated in the food preparation and I like the simplistic nature of the original plan. Once you get used to eating that way, it becomes a way of life and it is easy to follow.

: : : Anyone out there tried the Hilton Head Metabolism Diet? I tried this diet about 5 years ago because some friends of mine did great with it. But, the basis of teh diet is to re-regulate your metabolism, and the way they advise is to walk/excercise 20-30 minutes after you eat. Do this 2x per day.
: : : I've heard that excercise this close to eating is not good.
: : : Anyone with the scoop?

: I tried the Hilton Head Metabolism diet 10 years ago and lost 50 pounds. I felt great and had alot of energy. I didn't stick to the exercising and gained back some of the weight. I have unfortunately lost my book and can't find it in any of the bookstores. If anyone knows where to find the book or could put the low-cal menus and the booster menus on this website I would really appreciate it. Like Maggie, I also did not like the New Hilton Head Metabolism Diet, nor the one for people over 35. I preferred the original diet because it was easier to follow.

Linda, if you go to Barnes and Noble's website (www.bn.com) you'll see a tab for out of print titles. Click on that tab and enter in the name of the book, etc. and it will search out the title from their database of used book stores. I just went there, and there were 25 copies of the "old" 1983 version of the book. Good Luck!
