It started about 2 years ago, little jabs in the right side, then gradually hitting my back, very uncomfortable yet tolerable. I spent the last 2 years in and out of doctors offices and have tried a variety of anxiety medication as this was my primary diagnosis.
The pain is no longer tolerable and i drink a bottle of malox on a daily basis. 2 weeks ago I ended up in emergency room for severe pain that started in my stomach then took over my back. The only comfort was holding my breath and laying on a heating pad...this not feasible being a single partent of two active children. Once i got up to do a load of dishes and found myself hunched over the kitchen sink because it hurt too bad to straigtnen up i begged the doctor to do some test...result says gallbladder stones.
The doctor prescribed VIOXX...yes the arthritis medication. The symptoms subsided but eventually returned. Next doctor gave me a shot of buscopan and gave me a script to take every day of buscopan...so far so good but i am reluctant to say it is a long term pain reliever....i am scheduled to have my gallbladder out in 6 weeks and have heard numerous horror stories....my question is is it true you gain weight with gall bladder removal or lose weight ????
