: After suffering from terrible heart burn, every day, all day long, I saw my doctor. I had an upper GI where it was determined that I had a "small" HH. Since then I have been taking twice the reccomended dose of Zantec and getting some relief. I know not to eat late at night. I avoid spicy foods. I pay a terrible price when I drink alcoholic beverages. I am 42 years old and worrie that I may have a big problem with this as I get older. Does anyone know of treatment or lifestyle changes that will help. What can I do to feel better? What can I do to prevent it from getting worse? Thank you

i have the same worries that you do. i also was told that i have a hh, they told me it is too small to deal with in any way except meds. i am 24 years old and dont want to put up with the problems until the doctors decide that its big enough to deal with. about the prevention the doctors told me no spicy foods. that was all i was told.
