: I have been on Pepcid for about 10 years. I take 10mg, once a day. I take 20mg. (2X10) if I do something stupid like eating too late. I am concerned that I may develope reactions to the drug that are not good. So far nothing else comes even close to the effectiveness of Pepcid. If I rarely forget to take a pill before going to bed, I'll be up within two hours to take one. Is there anything else to try. Zantac is of no value to me.

: Thanks you,

What type of foods are you eating? You may want to consider a high protein, very low carbohydrate diet. I'd bet that this alone would significantly reduce your acid problem. Also, what is your blood type? From the description it sounds like Type O and you eat a lot of carbohydrates, especially wheat products.
