: I have a relative in law that was told that she has Barrets and it was terminal, is that true? She is 36 years old with 3 young children is there not anything that we can do for her?
: Please, please give me some information on this...
Barrett's esophagus is a condition in which the lining of a chronically irritated esophagus mutates to resemble the lining of the stomach. Cancer of the esophagus eventually develops in around five (5) percent of Barrett's cases, but the disease itself IS NOT TERMINAL.
