Need information and advice immediately. All information and research greatly appreciated.
One of my best friends 11 year old son, Joshua was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment one and half years ago. He had to have his appendix removed. It seemed like it took an exceptionally long time for him to recover.
Last year about nine months later he was once again rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. He has had excrutiating obdominal pain, high fever, dehydration, can not pass stools, passes blood. Not passing stools seems to be one of the most common problem. They have had to remove part of his large intestines.
They have given him one medication after another and have performed three additional surgeries. At one time he started bleeding from the stiches and they had to stop giving him one type of medication because apparently it was thining his blood too much.
The doctors and specialist all seemed to not know what has been causing the problem(s). He was in the hospital for about four months and was in critical life support the majority of the time. Since his release he has been rushed back several more times. The most informations he has been able to get from the doctors is that is was:
1. They are not exactly sure
3. Possible boil obstruction
4. Appendix surgery complications
We would appreciate any advice or information on what he should do.
