: I had a time with Crohn's disease, from the ages of around twenty till I was about 35. My body was totally exhausted, from the abuse of the Crohn's on my body. From constant diarreah, to severe weight loss, & arthritic symptoms all over my body, but the worst was these swellings I got on my limbs, and then there was the thin skin due to anti-inflamatories.(I was really bad about scraping the skin, and I would have to get repeated stitches. I am sort of clumbsy(Sp.), too.) But years of this dragged on and on. In the mid 1990's I got an ileostomy operation, but I also got a bit more. Due to prayer in Christ's name for endurance and a healing(and guidance of where to get help!) at the time of the operation...But this spiritual support helped survive on a daily basis. (My life was a mess, continually, because of the Crohn's D, and the hardships it placed on you. $...others) But the prayers worked. I had got the 8-9 hour operation...and thy even caught thios mistake before I went under, where this gas tank was empty, that was supplying the gas so i could be under.) I think prayers in Christ's name help us by protecting us physically, spiritually, and gives us the endurance level we need. But I felt like I was "guided" to the operation...In my case, I had found a good university hosptital that understood the disease and treated the symptoms with a level of confidence. I had good rapport with the Dr.s, also. But theprayers worked. It also keeps your mood up, when you release your burdens onto God. This helps more than anything, or did, in my case. Well, thought I'd share...God bless! Mark W.
Hello, Mark: Just wanted you to know I have had similar experiences to you regarding prayer--I know I get extra strength, physical and mental when I ask God for it in prayer. I have had Crohns Disease for 13 years and have sure learned a lot about faith in God. Cynthia
