Are you saying you have heartburn? GERD is gastro esophageal reflux disease and means you have a lot of acid in you stomach that can move up to your esophagus creating the burning in your chest. You can help neutralize this acid by eating often and not allowing your stomach to remain empty. On an empty stomach this acid can irritate further the stomach lining and esophagus. Also try not to eat certain food/drinks, such as carbonated beverages, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, which can create more acid. I have references for these statements, but I'll have to go look them up in my books. I certainly wish you the best and suggest that you go to see a gastroenterologist who specializes in digestive disorders such as this, if you haven't already done so. Keep in touch, Lisa Garcia
