: Does anyone have any ideas what might cause severe abdominal bloatedness? The symptoms include painful swelling of the abdomen (which is worse at the end of the day compared to the start) and an increase in weight. The bloatedness usually seems to peak just before menstruation. Both a wheat-free diet and a regular exercise programme have been followed for several months with no change in symptoms. Is Crohn's disease a possibility? Any help would be much appreciated as depression is becoming quite a problem now.
I think most bloating is caused by intolerance
/sentivity to foods dairy being a major culpit.
Sometime it is very difficult to ID the offending foods.----Harry
