Barrett's Esophogus is only termial if you let it go into Stage 4 esophogeal cancer. The way not to do that is to get your scopes and biopsies every year, take the medicine they give you and watch out for the spicy foods.
Barrett's Esophagus alone IS NOT terminal. Get a new gastro doctor.
My husband had stomach pain went to the doctor, got scoped and found out he had 1 cm barretts.
He controls his reflux, which causes the barretts with Prevacid. He goes once a year for biopsies.
So far so good.
PS My father in law, who ignored his stomach pain for years, went for a chest xray after his heart attack. Swollen lymph nodes led to a cat scan, let to a biopsy, led to a scope, led us to dealing suddenly to Stage four esophagus cancer. He has six cm barrets. He also has six months.
That is how it gets to be terminal.
