>>Does anyone have any ideas, please!?!<<

If this is the same thing I have, I call it a sour stomach and it does produce disgusting burps - lots of them. I get it occasionally, but mostly I feel normal. I've also had my gall bladder out (Thank God!). I can see vomiting as an answer, but that is really radical. When this happens to me, I take two tablespoons of liquid bismuth (like Pepto Bismol - the pink stuff - generic brands are cheaper and are just as effective), four times a day, for at least one day, maybe two. Cures it every time. Then I feel normal again, for weeks. Also, I eat light when I notice the symptoms starting. The problem just gets worse for me if I eat normal after the symptoms start.

I keep bismuth tablets in my briefcase just in case the symptoms start when I'm at work. They are not as effective as the liquid, in my opinion, but they do work. I usually take three tablets as one dose instead of the recommended two.

Note bismuth can give you a darkened tongue and definitely will give you dark stools. I always rince my mouth out after I take the liquid, but I don't drink for 30 minutes or so. Part of what I like about the Pink Stuff is it's ability to coat and soothe my stomach. Also, I keep chewing gum with me if I take the tablets. Cleans up the mouth nicely, and it gives me a fresh taste instead of the tablet's or liquid's heavy aftertaste.

I hope this is of help!
