I usually post on the back problem/pain mgmt board..but because I've been
having heart burn/esophagus spasms/chest pain/jaw pain..I decided to post here.
I read your post about having a lot of anxiety and I just wanted to let you know
that I think my symptoms may be coming from anxiety as well. I'm 20 and I live with
chronic pain..I've had surgery on my back and am going to have another one probably in dec.
I take morphine everyday..and spend much of my time going to doctors and being in hospitals.
I experience so much stress over the state of my health..and wondering if I'll ever get better..
and being sad that I can't do things a normal 20 year old can do that I think it's caused
me to experience these symptoms. I can't swallow any food without my esophagus burning really badly.
My doctor put me on prevacid..but it hasn't worked yet!
ANYWAY!! my advice to you is to accept the fact that anxiety may be causing you these problems. I think
if your doctor has run a series of tests..it shows that he is thorough and, in fact, you probably don't have a problem
with your lungs. Do you know why you have so much anxiety? Have you ever had serious medical problems that may have
caused you to fear that you would be sick again?
If you find that the pain does not go away, I would think about going to see a psychologist/psychiatrist.
It sounds as though you need to develop a stress mgmt. plan. ..ha-ha I have a counselor..but I think I need
to develop a stress mgmt. plan too!!
good luck! Dani
